Mid-Atlantic Song Contest Awards!

Every year, we try to enter a few songwriting contests. I feel that calling these things competitions is somewhat frustrating, since creative endeavours are not about winning or superiority. Anyway, this blog is not about that competitive downside to the music industry. This blog is about a song that is important to us.

On New Year's Eve, we were playing a gig at the beach and got an email during our break that told us that we had won the Songwriters’ Association of Washington (SAW) award for Best Folk/Acoustic song in the 41st Annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest! Bring With You Nothing from our 2024 album The Earth Turns and So Do We also won us 3rd Place Overall in the MASC!

We’re super proud of this song about our community and we’re so glad that it’s connecting with people. Many thanks to the judges and congrats to the other winners and entrants.
